Women on Wheels provides up to 50% subsidy on acquiring a driving license, reducing the financial barrier to obtaining a driving license, ensuring that women can legally and confidently operate their scooters.
This promotes adherence to traffic regulations and enhances road safety.

Safety Driving Classes

Comprehensive safety driving classes covering essential driving skills, road safety rules, and best practices for handling two-wheelers, building confidence and competence among women riders, reducing the risk of accidents and enhancing their overall safety on the roads.

Sessions on Traffic Law

Informative sessions on traffic regulations, including right-of-way rules, traffic signals, and road signs, helping women riders navigate the roads legally and responsibly, promoting a culture of adherence to traffic laws and contributing to safer road environments.

Language Skill Development

Language skill development programs focus on enhancing proficiency in local and widely spoken languages, enabling women to better interact with employers, customers, and authorities, boosting confidence and opening up more employment and business opportunities.

Entrepreneurship Development

Workshops on business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and customer service to support women aspiring to start their own businesses, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to run successful small-scale enterprises, fostering economic independence and growth.

Self-Defense Training

Practical techniques for protecting oneself in case of an attack, boosting the confidence of women as they travel and work independently, creating a safer and more secure environment for them.

Additionally, Women on Wheels offers scooters with up to a 50% subsidy , making them more affordable for women from low-income backgrounds. This initiative significantly reduces the financial burden, enabling women to commute safely and independently, thereby enhancing their economic opportunities and participation in the workforce.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Gender: Must be a woman.
  • Age: Between 18 and 55 years old.
  • Commitment: Willing to attend all the services provided as part of the initiative.
  • Financial Commitment: Willing to pay up to 50% of the cost of the scooter.
  • Employment Status: Not a permanent Central/State Government employee.
  • License: Must have or be willing to obtain a driving license.
  • Training: Willing to participate in training programs related to the project.
